Digital Photography Projects

And for my second post of the day, I am going to add some of my projects from my Digital Photography class from this past semester at Herkimer College so that you get to see my growing skills with Photoshop. So I hope you will enjoy them.

Basic Photography Projects

And I figure for today I am going to do another photo blog this time showcasing my projects from my Basic Photography class where I used cameras that produced black and white pictures. Even though I have these photos on my Facebook photo page as well as on my Behance portfolio that I made last semester for my Communication Arts Portfolio, I figure I’d add them here as well. However if you want to check out that particular section of my portfolio, here is the link:

  • So anyway, here you go and enjoy. Hard to believe that my last year at Herkimer College is about to begin next week. 🙂

    Another New Semester

In case you may or may not be aware, I have officially started my third year at HCCC this week. Yes, folks. The beginning of the end has arrived. And this is my first semester in my new major which is Communication Arts and New Media. And so far, things are going pretty good. I think my courses may be easier this time around.

Oh, what’s that? What do I have for courses this semester? Well, on Mondays and Wednesdays I have Photography and on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have Computer Graphics and Design. And that’s not all. I am also taking a web design course. And it’s an online course so I don’t really have to be on campus a whole lot compared to the last two years. And I have Fridays off like I did towards the end of last semester. The way it stands right now it doesn’t look like any of the problems that plagued me last semester will rear its ugly head. But it’s college, you know.

In Photography, I’ll be going old school with some old school black and white equipment. In Computer Graphics, I’ll be learning how to design regular stuff using Photoshop and various other stuff which I’ve only had mediocre success with in the past. And as far as my online course Web Design goes, my ultimate goal will be to create my own website. I don’t really think it’s going to be connected with my regular activities here, but at least it will be very useful when I continue to expand. Next thing you know, I’ll be able to rule the Interwebs. XD

Sometimes it isn’t easy transitioning back to college after taking a summer off. However, I don’t really have that heavy a workload this semester. Right now I don’t really have to worry about tests or anything. Most of the final exams I have will mainly be presentations which is a load off. Hopefully, I will be able to avoid the disaster that befell me last semester with the erratic scheduling.

So yeah, there you go. My final year of college has officially begun and it will be a recurring theme throughout the remainder of the year and into next year. As far as what I plan to do after I graduate, I don’t know. One idea I have and probably should do is relocate to another state and I’m not sure. Maybe continue my education in a college, but I gotta go where I can have better opportunities to be successful be it job, relationship, whatever. Because whatever I’m looking for I’m obviously not gonna find it here in New York. I’ve gotta go where the opportunities are.

I figure I’d upload all my concert footage from the HCCC Winter Wasteland concert featuring the local band the Birdseed Bandits which I filmed back in November.

    End of Semester

As the Christmas season descends upon us yet again, I just want to touch base with everyone since I have been busy with school and other things to fire off this little post here. Earlier this month, I have completed my first semester as a college student at HCCC. And as it turns out, I did really good. I ended the semester with two A’s and two B’s. So my GPA to date is currently standing at 3.49. Not bad for an old guy who’s been out of school for fourteen years now, eh?

So basically, I am free until January 23, which is the start of the second semester. I am still set to the four class roster that I had last semester, but I actually have classes on all five days. I have two on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday but only one class on Wednesday. I am gonna be taking Audio Production, Advertising, and Computer Applications as well as a gym class so I can gain access to the Fitness Center up there.

I am rapidly trying to get back in shape considering that I missed about a whole month because I got a cold back in October that lasted about a couple of weeks. So I am basically trying to get back into the game here, especially with the new year right around the corner. Gotta get back in shape.

And it also looks like I might be getting a laptop just in time for next semester. It should also help me out when it comes time to get back to my Internet activities, most notably my YouTubing. I am hoping that I can get new equipment and hopefully get back to making videos possibly by early 2012. I have a whole slew of ideas and I am just waiting to try them all out.

Since I probably won’t be back online until Tuesday, I just want to take the opportunity right now to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
